Tala Rae Schlossberg is an American experimental artist working at the intersection of animation, language, and material play. Her distinct visual language—simultaneously ironic, pastoral, and insistently original—reimagines the relationship between image and meaning. Her work has been commissioned by The New York Times, MoMA, Patagonia, and Planned Parenthood, and has appeared in exhibitions and screenings internationally. She considers herself a scientist of imaginary space, and is currently studying time travel. @talaschlossberg www.talaschlossberg.com
Kelli Anderson is an artist, designer, and animator who pushes the limits of ordinary materials by seeking out possibilities hidden in plain view. Her books and projects have included This Book Is a Planetarium (which houses a tiny planetarium and other scientific contraptions), a book that transforms into a pinhole camera called This Book Is a Camera, and a working paper record player. Her new book, Alphabet in Motion, is out this Fall. She invented an animation technique which involves misusing a risograph to print animation tactile and deliciously noisey frames. The particular riso animation featured by peephole repurposes the “missing asset” TV test pattern imagery from AfterEffects.
